It was our first time playing this golf course and we were very delighted. It was built in 1972. The grounds are very well kept. Some of the cart paths were bumpy, but the course was challenging and beautiful. The carts were great as well as the staff. Their dining area holds up to 200 people. Good value

We played Rolling Meadows yesterday, ( August 26th 2024 ) and loved it. Beautiful course, really well maintained. A great mix of challenging holes , long and short. The staff were really nice and very helpful. We'll 1000% be back again in the future. Thank you Rolling Meadows!

Usually a good experience here, but today was the exception. We had a 12:15 tee time but they had booked a tournament and they were running close to an hour behind. This wasn't a problem as no one in our group had anywhere to be. We waited at each of the first 9 holes for the group in front of us to get out of range, which was fine. Guessing that with booking the tourney, and the fact that the parking lot was full that the course was slightly overbooked and moving slow. When we finished hole 9, we stopped to grab some hot dogs at the turn and then proceeded to the tenth hole. The group in front of us had finished the hole and moved to the 11th hole. We began teeing off and the marshal pulled up and said, "You guys know your holding up the line right"? Not wanting to get into it with him, I said we just got to the hole after ordering our food, to which he quickly replied "Eat your hotdog in the cart". I had already taken my shot and my ball was on the green, (short Par 3). Someone else in our group pointed out that we had a 12:15 tee time and had to wait an hour, to which he responded, "There's a tournament. If you're unhappy about the wait, you should have asked for a raincheck". I was about to point out that we hadn't had a single hole where we didn't have to wait for the group in front of us and that particular group was still teeing off on the 11th, but the marshal drove off. Up until then, we were having a great time, regardless of how slow the course was moving. This marshal who clearly thought putting a checkered flag on his cart gave him the right to be rude and condescending ruined the next 3 or 4 holes for us. I will also point out that after finishing the 10th hole we waited on the 11th and every hole on the back 9 for the group in front of us. The only people who were "holding up the line" were the marshal who accused us incorrectly, and interrupting our tee off on the tenth, and whoever overbooked the course that day. When we voiced our concerns to another employee, they were not surprised by the marshal's behavior. Like I said, We usually have no complaints about Rolling Meadows, but they need to tell the marshal that was on the course between 1 pm and 4 PM on September 15 to get down off his high horse.

5 HOURS & 55 MIN TO PLAY 18 is unbelievable
I've been coming to this course once or twice a year for 12 years. Not anymore. BRUTAL course condition, greens were horrible, hard dry burnt "fairways", tee boxes very uneven and so beat up. 4 groups deep waiting on par 3s. Pay the extra $10 and play elsewhere around the region, this place is not worth the cost.

If you want a full day on the liniks where you can enjoy bumpy shaggy greens, uneven, unmanicured, weed infested, tee boxes with tons of divots this course is for you. Unlike other courses where they expect you to be finished your round in less than 4.5 hours you can enjoy listening to everyone else’s Spotify playlists along with the wafting weed smell for well over 5 hours. Social interactions are plentiful and quite often you can chill with your other golfing bros on the tee of your next hole while you wait for 2 groups to finish the hole. Don’t worry about getting hassled for how long your round is taking as there’s no marshal’s out there to bother you. The overflowing empty beer can garbage cans were a bit inconvenient but you could just probably throw your empties on the ground.

I can appreciate trying to make money running your business but if you want return customers this is not the business model.
Tee Boxes: I have seen greener areas on the Gaza Strip
Greens: Slower the Molasses, lots of damage, unrepaired ball marks
Bunkers: Most have GIR, or are completely filled with leaves
Fairways: 5/10 need to be cut shorter for the weekend for sure
Tee Times: they seperate groups by 7 minutes. This leads to log jams always.
Marshalls/Starter : 0 enforcement for pace of play unless you are under 40 years old. Was stuck behind a group of 5, 2 of which were marshalls at the course lol. waiting 10 minutes of each tee box. Told active Marshall and he just drove away.
Spend you money elsewhere, the 10$ you save to play here isnt worth the 20 extra strokes you'll have with all the bs.

Good course, but horrible piece of play all the people that play there are above the age of 80 and it took me three hours to play nine holes on a Friday morning. I left the course because the pace of play is so slow and the members there have no etiquette at all.
